A SPECIAL GALA EVENING IN AID OF

Join us for an unforgettable headline event as legendary actor Sir Derek Jacobi CBE takes to the stage for an intimate evening of conversation, stories and reflections from a life spent at the very top of theatre, film and television.

Presented by Clive Conway Productions and hosted by actor and director Richard Clifford, this special gala night will raise vital funds for Mountbatten Hospice, supporting their incredible work across the Isle of Wight.

Together, Derek and Richard will share memories from an extraordinary career spanning more than six decades — from Shakespearean stages to some of the most beloved productions in modern film and television.

An Icon of Stage and Screen

Few actors have had a career as distinguished as Sir Derek Jacobi CBE. A towering figure of British theatre, he helped shape the early years of the Royal National Theatre and has worked alongside legendary figures including Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Trevor Nunn.

Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for services to theatre, Derek’s extraordinary achievements include BAFTA, Olivier, Emmy, Screen Actors Guild and Tony Awards.

His Shakespeare credentials are unmatched — having performed in nearly every major play, including iconic roles in Hamlet and Othello.

On screen, his performances have become part of television and cinema history, with standout appearances in productions such as I, Claudius, Gladiator, Gladiator II, Last Tango in Halifax, The Crown, Gosford Park, Nanny McPhee, and The King's Speech.

In Conversation with Richard Clifford

Guiding the evening will be actor and director Richard Clifford, whose own career spans theatre, film and television.

Richard has appeared in numerous productions directed by Kenneth Branagh, including Much Ado About Nothing, Love's Labour's Lost, Frankenstein, and Murder on the Orient Express.

His screen work also includes My Week with Marilyn, Justice League, The Crown, and It's a Sin.

On stage he has appeared in productions such as Amadeus at Chichester and Henry V in the West End, while also directing productions at the Folger Shakespeare Theatre for over two decades.

As Derek’s long-time partner as well as collaborator, Richard brings a unique perspective to the conversation — promising insight, humour, and behind-the-scenes stories from a remarkable life in theatre.
