Jay EATWELL

Isle of Wight local, Jay Eatwell, joins us fresh from selection as one of four finalists in Channel 4’s, The Piano, a talent show aimed at finding the UK’s most talented amateur piano player.

Multi-talented Jay, 25, was discovered at Kings Cross St Pancras Station where his live performance of an original composition “Fire" - a mash-up of classical piano and rap - wowed the show's judges, Lang Lang and Mika who described Jay’s style as, "a clash of musical worlds”.

A prolific writer and composer, Jay attended the Island’s music college, Platform One and said,
“I have been playing and writing original music for over ten years.  Music has always been a massive part of my life; we used to have a piano downstairs in the family home. I was given a keyboard at about 13 and I never stopped playing it.  The piano has been a constant in my life; I play all the time, and as much as I can.  Being chosen to play at Royal Festival Hall as a finalist of The Piano has changed my life; I am now performing all around the UK.  My style varies, mostly it features singing and rapping with hooks for either piano or guitar”.
